Celebrating Florida Tech's 65th Orbit Around the Sun

Florida Tech is celebrating 65 years of excellent education, revolutionary research, and inspiring innovation. This university that began its life as “Countdown College,” has rocketed into stardom, from humble beginnings as a “night school for missilemen” to a what it is today—a premier scientific and technological university whose impact reaches around the globe.

Today, more than 70,000 alumni are sharing their passion, brilliance and Panther pride through outstanding contributions in industry, education, and public service.

Presidential Investiture of Dr. John W. Nicklow

The Board of Trustees at Florida Institute of Technology invites students, faculty, staff, as well as families, friends, and supporters of the university to attend the presidential investiture of Dr. John W. Nicklow on Jan. 26, 2024.

The investiture, or inauguration ceremony, will be followed immediately by a reception with light refreshments.

  • Event is free and open to the public.
  • Business attire is most appropriate.
  • Signs and staff will direct off-campus guests to available parking.


Founders Day Ice Cream Social

The words The Florida Tech community kicked-off the university's 65th anniversary in true Florida Tech fashion—together, with a Founders Day Ice Cream Social held on Sept. 22, 2023 in the Clemente Center.

During the event, President Nicklow, joined by vice presidents, deans and other university leaders, scooped and  served craftmade "Panther Tracks" ice cream to students, staff, faculty members and alumni.
